Counselling
HOPE. HEALING. TRANSFORMATION.

Blending Methods to Suit You
Everyone’s story is unique, and so is the path to healing and growth. I draw from a range of evidence-based methods and therapeutic frameworks to tailor sessions that feel right for you. Here’s a look at some of the approaches I use in my counselling work:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT combines mindfulness with values-based living. It helps you accept difficult thoughts and feelings while committing to actions that align with what matters most to you.
Attachment Theory
Understanding your early attachment experiences can shed light on how you connect with others today. This framework supports healing by exploring trust, safety, and emotional bonds in relationships.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT explores the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It’s especially helpful for addressing patterns of anxiety, depression, or self-doubt by developing practical coping strategies.
Couples Therapy
Working with couples, I support open and respectful communication, deepen emotional connection, and help navigate recurring conflicts or unmet needs. The goal is mutual understanding and renewed partnership.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
EFT helps uncover deep emotional needs and patterns in relationships. It supports couples and individuals in building secure, connected bonds through openness, responsiveness, and engagement.
Family Therapy
Families are complex systems. This approach brings family members together to explore dynamics, improve communication, and create a space where everyone’s voice matters.
Gestalt Therapy
Gestalt focuses on your present experience — thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations — to help you become more aware of how you relate to yourself and others. It encourages personal responsibility and integration.
Genograms
A genogram is like a family tree with emotional insight. It helps map relationships, patterns, and generational influences, offering a deeper understanding of your family background and its impact.
Interpersonal Process Therapy
This approach focuses on the therapeutic relationship as a space to explore how you relate to others. It helps uncover underlying relational patterns and build more fulfilling connections outside therapy.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness helps you stay grounded in the present, gently guiding you to observe your thoughts and emotions without judgment. It supports emotional regulation and resilience.
Narrative Therapy
We all live by stories we tell about ourselves. Narrative therapy helps you identify, explore, and reshape those stories, especially ones that may be limiting or painful.
Play Therapy
Traditionally used with children aged 3–12, play therapy is now increasingly recognised as helpful for teens and adults — including those who are neurodivergent. Through creative expression, it allows individuals to explore emotions and experiences when words are hard to find.
Person-Centred Therapy
Rooted in empathy, respect, and authenticity, this approach creates a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace.
Sand Tray Therapy
Using miniature figures and a tray of sand, this non-verbal technique encourages symbolic exploration of feelings and internal experiences. It’s especially useful for trauma, grief, or when emotions feel difficult to articulate.
Solution-Focused Therapy
This future-oriented approach highlights your strengths and resources. We focus on what’s working and build toward achievable, meaningful changes — even from small steps.
