A gentle and professional space for healing

Cert.png

I didn’t set out with all the answers—just a deep curiosity about how people connect, grow,  heal and live with authenticity.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside clients in Australia, Hong Kong and China, learning from each cultural landscape and the unique ways people tell their stories. Each place taught me something about how we hold pain and how we seek connection - every person deserves to be met with respect, cultural sensitivity, and patience.

Behind every qualification is a simple commitment: to listen with care, to walk with integrity, and to offer a space where you can arrive exactly as you are.

My Training

As a registered counsellor with a Master of Counselling and a Bachelor of Theology, I am committed to offering evidence‑based, person‑centred, and culturally responsive support. My practice is grounded in ongoing learning—through supervision, professional development, workshops, and reflective work that helps me grow alongside the people I support.

My experience includes working with:

  • Individuals navigating stress, anxiety, uncertainty, or transitions

  • Couples seeking deeper connection and healthier communication

  • Families adjusting to change, cross‑cultural experiences, or intergenerational challenges

  • Clients exploring faith, meaning, and identity

I hold a gentle respect for the complexity of each person’s inner world. Whether someone is carrying relational wounds, spiritual questions, or long‑held patterns of self‑protection, my role is to accompany—not to push, not to assume, and not to rush.

Healing is not just something I guide—it's something I learn from every day.

What I bring to the room

Cultural sensitivity

I understand the layered experiences of migration, multilingual identity, and cross‑cultural family dynamics. These influence not only how we speak, but how we feel, how we relate, and how we make sense of ourselves.

Trauma-informed approach

I work gently with clients who have experienced relational hurt, loss, or difficult life events—creating safety at every step and honouring your pace.

Neurodiversity-affirming practice

I welcome clients with diverse ways of thinking, sensing, and processing the world. I adapt my approach to support autistic individuals, ADHDers, and others who experience the world uniquely—with respect for communication differences, sensory needs, and self‑expression.

Here, you never need to mask or shrink parts of who you are. This space is shaped around you.

What therapy means to us

Therapy is not about fixing—it is about discovering. It is about sitting with the messy, tender, hopeful, and confusing parts of being human, and finding meaning in them together.

Healing unfolds quietly: in being heard, in being understood, in being gently accompanied.

If you’re wondering whether we may be a good fit, you’re warmly invited to reach out. We will take this step at your pace, one moment at a time.

"Every step you take toward healing is a courageous one —

and you don’t have to walk it alone." - Kat Lau
