We believe every person deserves to be heard and understood.

In the moment you're met with acceptance, healing quietly begins. By Kat Lau

Welcome to Katerpillar Counselling

When you step in here, we see the courage in your heart
like a seed breaking through the soil, or a caterpillar waiting for its wings.

Whether you’re facing storms in relationships, confusion about identity, or pain too deep to speak, we are here to walk with you as you untangle each burden, listening to the echoes of your heart in the stillness.

Your transformation begins quietly in this moment.

Master of Counselling | Bachelor of Theology | ACA Level 2

I am Kat, a counsellor and companion.
With a Master’s in Counselling and a Bachelor’s in Theology.
My approach is multi-integrated; I blend narrative therapy, person-centred, CBT, Play Therapy, mindfulness and so on, to weave a safe space for your growth.

I believe:
Healing doesn’t come from loud breakthroughs, but from small awakenings — like new leaves unfurling after rain, or a chrysalis waiting for wings.

Sometimes, the language of love is covered by silence. We guide you as you practice—

Real voices. Quiet courage.

These weren’t written for you. They were written for themselves—but they’ve been left here, in case they gently meet something in you.

🇿🇲 Sussane (Zambia)

I grew up in a loving, supportive community and lived a joyful life with access to higher education. But when I immigrated to Australia, I faced harsh discrimination because of my skin colour—it crushed me. I became deeply self-conscious. I avoided eye contact with strangers, and couldn’t walk into shopping malls. Shame consumed me.

Kat met me in that space. With warmth, acceptance, and encouragement, she accompanied me through 20 sessions that helped me rebuild my confidence piece by piece. She didn’t just listen—she helped me dismantle the trauma and gently led me back to myself.

Now, I no longer feel afraid. I can step into stores, look people in the eye, and even greet strangers with ease. I’ve come back to life—and come back to me.

Quiet Questions, gentle answers...

Some questions we’ve prepared for, even before you speak them. Before you’re ready to ask, a gentle answer awaits you here.

Q: Do I need to book an appointment? How can I schedule a session?

We want every visitor to receive dedicated support, so all sessions are by appointment. You can easily contact us through our website booking form, by whatsApp,  phone, or by email. We’ll thoughtfully help you arrange the most suitable time for your session.

Q: Is everything I share kept confidential?

Your trust means everything to us. All conversations are strictly confidential, allowing you to express yourself freely in a safe and respectful space.

Q: Can I choose between online and in-person sessions?

We understand that everyone’s circumstances and needs are different, so we offer both online and in-person counselling. You’re free to choose the format that best suits your situation and comfort. We’ll be here to support you every step of the way.

Q: Do I need to have a serious problem to seek counselling?

Not at all. Whether you’re facing minor challenges, emotional ups and downs, or simply want to better understand yourself, we’re here to support you. Counselling is for anyone seeking growth or support.

Q: How should I prepare for my first session?

Just bring an open mind. If there are specific topics you’d like to discuss, feel free to think about or note them down in advance. This is your safe space—you’re free to be yourself.

Some answers are already waiting. And when you're ready, we're here—with ears to listen, and space to begin.
